Figured a good post to kick of this blog would be the founders of the Death/Doom Metal genre: Dream Death. They were one of the first (if not the first) to combine elements from old school death metal and the slower doomy feel of Doom Metal. This was highly experimental at the time, so it probably won't sound like what you're used to in the Death/Doom genre.
Simply put, the vocals are hardcore vocals. In fact, they have an incredibly eerie similarity to Slayer's Tom Araya. It's uncanny. Imagine if Slayer was better and played Death/Doom instead of Thrash. Check out the last song; it's probably the best.
for 1987 and obscure records, the choice of Dream Death`s release is the most logical solution
