As you listen to this release, you'll probably notice something funky with the vocals. Something you can't quite put your finger on... that's right, it's a chick! Way back in Death/Doom's early days, female vocals were unheard of, and these guys (and girl) smashed through that barrier to spit out this doomy, crushing demo. Unfortunately, the band never got that much recognition, which is a pity, considering their talent. It seems some Doom/Death bands can be a bit grating in that you get antsy listening to them, waiting for some speed or riffing. Mystic Charm are as slow as they come, but have a mystical charm about them that keeps the listener involved the entire way. Can't quite explain it, but listen to their classic track "Mystic Charms" and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Production isn't bad, but it's not good either. A few issues with mixing here and there and some crackling, but generally handles the down-tuned guitars quite nicely and makes this a solid piece of material that would lead to the pure devestation that was to come two years later in their full-length.
